TP Eagles Team Completed 1-Star Kayaking Proficiency on 18-19 Sep 2010.

TP Eagles youth leaders namely, Abdul Gader, Ahmad Arif, Aloysius Ng, Wong Wei Tao, Lin Naing and Joshua Cheng had successfully completed the One-Star Kayaking Skill Award on 18-19 September 2010 at PA Water Venture Changi Centre. The weekend 12-hour intensive course equipped our youth members with basic knowledge of river kayaking, water survival and sea rescue handling. The session drilled our youths in mental and physical strength, discipline and team-building through a series of scenario-based rescue exercises. Congratulations and well done. Keep it up to the next level.

SSA Jamb100 cum 3rd Asean Jamboree will be held from 4-9 December 2010 at Sarimbun Scout Camp. P5-P6 Cub Scouts are strongly encouraged to participate as this Singapore Jamboree is organised once every 10 years. Some 3500 Scouts are expected to participate, including an estimated of 1,000 Scouts from 9 Countries are expected to be here. The local Camp Fee per head is $200.00 which will include all meals, attractive souvenirs such as badges, T-shirt and scraf. In addition, campers are expected to experience more than 100 on and off-site adventure activities. For Leaders aged above 18 years old, you can take this opportunity to be part of the Camp Staff team. You will need to pay $150 (for working adults) or $100 (if you are a full-time student currently with tertiary institutions /or is serving full-time National Service. Please feel free to contact your respective Unit Leaders for more details.

District Archery Camp Chief, ACSL Benjamin Lim

ACSL Benjamin Lim had taken up the appointment of Camp Chief for the forthcoming District Archery Camp scheduled from 6-8 June 2008. He first started Scouting with First Toa Payoh Eagles in 2000. He was the first District Commissioners' Award recipent in his school. He continued to return and serve as Service Scouts during his secondary days. He was appointed as Assistant Cub Scout Leader in 2008. His leadership had proven success and new challenges for First Toa Payoh Primary School who had attained GOLD AWARD for Frank Cooper Sands Award 2007.

TP Eagles Group Scout Leader

GSL Ong Shun Hua took over the helm as the 7th GSL of the TP Eagles since Jan 2007. Shun Hua started Scouting in 1996 with Pei Chun Eagles as a Cub Scout. That year, he witnessed the renewed leadership of the Pei Chun Eagles after the demise of our late-founder. A rank and file Scout who studied at Pei Chun Public School, The Chinese High School, Victoria JC and now an undergraduate with NUS. He served his National Service as an Armour Officer holding the rank of LTA. He was appointed as District Leader (Cubs) with Toa Payoh District since September 2007.

2nd President's Scout Award Candidate From TP Eagles

Venture Scout, Wong Kang Yan is standing tall among his peers as he is completing his final pursuit for the prestigious President's Scout Award at the end of this year. Kang Yan did his Scouting with Pei Chun Eagles from 1999 - 2002, being awarded the District Commissioners' Award, thereafter continued his scouting adventures with Hwa Chong Institution from 2003, received his Chief Commissioners' Award in 2006, followed by Outstanding Scout Award in 2007. He will be representing Singapore in the forthcoming World Scout Youth Forum in Korea from 5-10 July 2008. We wish him all the best in his colourful Scouting and hope he will do us proud again for the PSA Award.

Miss Rosalind Chia, School Principal of First Toa Payoh Primary School, for being conferred the Silver Vanda Award for her strong support and contribution to the Scout Movement, in particular to FTPPS Eagles which was established since 2001.

Mr Richard Lai Teck Chuan, our Group Advisor, for being conferred the Bronze Lion Award for his voluntary contribution to the Scout Movement, in particular to Pei Chun Public School's indepth development of the scout group.

District Commissioner (Toa Payoh), Mr Lai Kwok Chin and DC (Ang Mo Kio), Mr William Tan, both being conferred the Bronze Lion Award for their valuable contributions to the Scout Movement.
